Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, 2 along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; 3 Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.

1 Peter 4:10 NLT
A Christian Volunteer Worker is someone who gives of their time to the service of the body of Christ without pay. This is applicable on the local level of the body of Christ such as our volunteers who serve at Joy Fountain and those who travel within the country and overseas to serve Jesus in various volunteer roles. Mary, Martha and Lazarus were great examples of volunteers who served Jesus with their time and resources. How we volunteer is usually an indication of where our priorities lie. May we all serve the Lord Jesus faithfully.

Sample Prayer
Father in Heaven,
Thank you for the army of volunteer workers who currently serve in your vineyard here in Canada and every nation upon the earth. Your word says “in the day of Your power Your people shall be willing” Let your power be revealed among us oh Lord that many more will jump on the train of serving you.

For those who no longer see a need to help in any capacity within the local church Holy Spirit bring revival to their hearts. For those wanting opportunities to serve, create the opportunities for them even if it means moving them from where they are not needed to where they are needed. Those who are hiding in the crowd help them to step up and be used of you as you desire.
I thank You, Lord, for a great in-gathering of fresh volunteers within your church.
