Standing Against the Wiles of Satan

Scriptures

⁴² Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.⁴³ Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. ⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

John 8:42-44

Satan is unrepentantly wicked and will stop at nothing to dissuade and destroy you. He is a thief who comes only to “steal, kill and destroy.” The good news is that we have been given authority over the powers of the enemy.

Prayer Points

• Praise God for exposing the tricks of the evil one.
  
• Pray for continued wisdom for church leaders so we don’t fall into the trap of the evil one. See 2 Corinthians 2:11
  
• Pray for discernment among believers to know when the enemy is at work.
  

Sample Prayer

Father in Heaven,

I stand in the place of the authority Christ has given every believer. With that authority and in the name of Jesus Christ I come against every manipulation, lie, wiles and attacks of the enemy over myself, family and the church of God. I confront the enemy and his cohorts on assignment against your people with the precious blood of Jesus shed for the remission of sins. The devil has no claim over us.

I thank you for victory through the cross of Jesus today and always in Jesus matchless name.
