The King’s Reset Day 21: The Anointing!

Good morning family. It is day 21, the last day of The King’s Reset fasting prayer. I hope this has been a most rewarding exercise for you. Today we will focus our prayer on the Anointing.

The Holy Spirit and Power

The anointing is the imprint of God on the life of an individual or specific group of people for the execution of His purpose. Throughout scripture we find God anointing people with the Holy Spirit for one thing or the other. It is the anointing that makes the difference in the service of the King of kings. An example to better understand this concept is the Lord Jesus Himself. We learn about Jesus’ life assignment from 1 John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Then we see exactly how that happened in Peter’s message to Cornelius’ household in Acts 10

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Acts 10:38 NKJV

As we can see God anointed Jesus first with the Holy Spirit and then with power. Isn’t that interesting? We see something quite intriguing. The Holy Spirit is present in the life of every believer as He comes to live within us. He is the anointing who teaches us, guides us, and helps us live in the will of God. He is the Blessed Comforter. John in 1 John 2:27 describes Him as the anointing that teaches you concerning all things.” Having said that we can safely establish that the fact that a person is anointed with the Holy Spirit does not mean that person has the power to destroy the works of the devil.

The Anointing Breaks Yokes

So how does a person receive power from God for a specific assignment? Before I answer the question we see again in Jesus’ life that the Holy Spirit came upon Him right after John Baptized Him at the Jordan River.

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 3:16-17 NKJV

Following that He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

Luke 4:1-2 NKJV

And then He returned in the power of the Holy Spirit having obtained victory over the season of temptation

Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

Luke 4:14-15 NKJV

Receive and Use The Power in the Word

Power increases in our lives as we overcome the many lies, taunts, and wiles of the enemy using the Scriptures. As we see from the previous example, it was upon His return from the wilderness after being tempted by the enemy that we hear that He returned in the power of the Spirit. It is however important to also note that while Jesus was being tempted in the wilderness His victory was won by what He already knew was written. The word is a sword, hammer, and fire. Bury yourself in the word and you will rise in the power of Heaven’s sword, hammer, and fire.

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope

Romans 15:4 NKJV

Friends the wilderness situation you may be facing right now may just be that great window of opportunity to shut satan’s mouth and receive victory. It is time for us as individuals and as a collective to say to the enemy “we know who you are and you’re not winning this battle nor the war, we are, we have already won.” Do you read and meditate in the word? I have great hope in His word. Do you?

So in this year 2023, the year of The King’s Reset I boldly declare in the words of Jesus the Christ (The Anointed One)“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Great time at the feet of the Lord during 21 days focused on prayers. I really appreciate that. My prayer life is getting better as I have been able to pray 3 hours in tongues and received assurance in the presence of the Lord. I am facing with courage what I am passing through with my family and the church challenges. God is in control. I feel much more confident. I have got clearer understanding of the up to date situation with a definite perspective from God.
