The King’s Reset Day 20: What We Can Expect!

Good morning family. It is day 20. We have one more day to go.

Now that we have waited on the Lord for the last number of days what can we expect to happen? We can expect a Divine visitation and intervention. Glory to God.

God is Faithful

The most important thing I think we must bear in mind is that God is faithful no matter what. The scriptures say that “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” All through the Bible whenever God’s people or an individual decide to set aside time to seek the Lord something always happens. This will not be different for us as a body of God’s people.

What did you ask God to do in your own life? Our Father in Heaven by His mighty power will bring it to pass and not just that but as Paul writes to the Ephesian church we can be sure that “He will do exceedingly abundantly above what we ask or think.” We do have an adversary however whose work is to accuse and deride in hopes of derailing our faith. Do not give in because the devil is indeed a liar. We are children of the Living God and He is the Truth and we believe the Truth. Jesus in His discourse with the religious stalwarts of His day who reveled in lies said:

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

John 8:44 NKJV

The Divine Prescription

In Joel Chapter 1 we come across a situation where the land is at risk of being plundered by marauding enemies. There is trouble around every corner and the leaders, religious elite, and the people were not even aware of the danger they were in. Prosperity is stalled and the hearts of the people are failing them. When I look around I am able to find abundant similarities at my local level. We have touched on some of these items of troubling societal change in the last number of days.

What was the Lord’s prescription to the prophet? We see that in the following scripture verses:

Gird yourselves and lament, you priests;
Wail, you who minister before the altar;
Come, lie all night in sackcloth,
You who minister to my God;
For the grain offering and the drink offering
Are withheld from the house of your God.
Consecrate a fast,
Call a sacred assembly;
Gather the elders
And all the inhabitants of the land
Into the house of the Lord your God,
And cry out to the Lord.

Joel 1:13-14 NKJV

This prescription is applicable throughout the generations. Every Christian is a priest unto our God as we see in Revelation 1:6 and so when we gather to fast and pray we are engaged in our primary assignment as a collective of priests.

The Divine Intervention

God’s people will never be put to shame if as priests unto our God, we turn our faces to seek Him. Again from the prophet Joel here is what we can expect:

Then the Lord will be zealous for His land,
And pity His people.
The Lord will answer and say to His people,
“Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil,
And you will be satisfied by them;
I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.

“But I will remove far from you the northern army,
And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
With his face toward the eastern sea

And his back toward the western sea;
His stench will come up,
And his foul odor will rise,
Because he has done monstrous things.”

Fear not, O land;
Be glad and rejoice,
For the Lord has done marvelous things!
Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
For the open pastures are springing up,
And the tree bears its fruit;
The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the Lord your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He will cause the rain to come down for you—
The former rain,
And the latter rain in the first month.
The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,
And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.

Joel 2:18-27 NKJV

Examples abound in scripture showing this principle. We see this with Queen Esther, Ezra the scribe, Daniel the civil servant Prophet, and even our Lord Jesus who did not commence ministry until after a 40-day fast. Our generation will not be different. God is always ready to move on behalf of His remnant.

So “fear not little flock for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” I am thankful you and I are counted worthy to be a part of His family of priests. Praise the Lord!

Payer Session: He is Faithful

Please use the worship song link and Scripture verses provided if you would like as fuel for a quality time of prayer.

  1. Read Joel 2:26-27 Give praise and thanksgiving to God because He is faithful and has promised that His people will never be put to shame
  2. Decree and declare that the word of the Lord will come to pass as he spoke through prophet Joel. Declare that because we have come together to seek Him He will do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or think.
  3. Philippians 2:10-11 Use the authority we have been given in the name of Jesus to rebuke and cast out from your sphere of influence every lying spirit arming up against yourself and the church of God. Cast down every imagination and high thing that seeks to exalt itself against the knowledge of God in Jesus’ name.
  4. End the session with thanksgiving and praise to the God who hears and answers our prayer.
