Day 13

Deeper for Divine Downloads

A decision to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus beyond the periphery of the Christian faith, beyond the “I am saved” period, type of confession, will land us at a place where Divine downloads become commonplace. A Divine Download is something that Heaven drops into your spirit to accomplish God’s purpose in you and others. It could come as a thought, a set of words to your mind, a voice, or a word of knowledge within a dream, while reading scriptures or in an open vision.

Adam Ruined It

God in His plan of salvation intended that flesh and blood engage with heaven. Remember how in the Garden of Eden The Lord God had regular fellowship with Adam and Eve? You and I are flesh and blood after Adam’s likeness, fashioned after a fallen and grossly stepped-down version of whom God had created at first. Notice how the scripture below, clearly says Adam was made in the likeness and image of God and 130 years later bore a son after his image and likeness?

This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

Adam and Eve lost their ability to talk and engage with God directly. An intermediary would now be needed. Why? Well, because fallen Mankind was now just flesh, a product of the earth, under the dominion of satan that old serpent, the deceiver of the world. God’s Spirit could no longer fellowship with Mankind without the wall of sin getting in the way.

Adam blew it and that came down to you and I. Thank God for Jesus.

Blessed To Hear Heaven

The fact that Adam ruined it I believe is why Jesus celebrated Peter and called him blessed for a Divine Download because Jesus was already seeing His assignment coming to pass in Peter. Let’s read:

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

Matthew 16:13-17 NKJV

Paul and Ananias Divine Download

Paul the Apostle maintained the Lord Jesus taught Him the things He was teaching about the Church and God’s Kingdom for the benefit and building of the Church. He prayed often that the mysteries of God’s Kingdom be revealed to every believer.

11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1:11-12 NKJV

It is true that we are not all going to be Apostle Paul and will therefore not need that level of intensity of downloads. However, there will come times when the Lord will require your service in one area or the other. Sharpening our hearing and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God will help us be ready to hear and ready to move in His revealed will for ourselves and others. Can you imagine if Ananias a disciple who lived in Damascus at the time Paul was converted was not fine-tuned in his receptivity to hear from God?

10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. 12 And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” 13 Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” 17 And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.19 So when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus

Acts 9:9-19 NKJV

The Holy Spirit describes Ananias as a “certain disciple” just like you. He was not the Bishop of the Damascus Diocese. He was just “a certain disciple” ready to be used by the Lord. To my mind a Disciple is someone who is taking their faith seriously and growing in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you are that person, particularly if you are engaged in a fasting season such as this, I see Divine Downloads and Divine Encounters becoming part of your retinue.

Let us go deeper with Jesus for Divine Downloads. Amen!
