Day 11

Divine Patterns II

Before Adam and Eve sinned and were thrust from the Garden of Eden, everything worked in harmony in a well-orchestrated rhythm. Even God Himself the Bible tells us came to the garden in the cool of the day to walk in it and of course fellowship with them.

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Genesis 3:8 NKJV

Somehow Mr. and Mrs. Adam got carried away with their newfound knowledge and forgot that the Lord God would come visit (See Psalm 17:3.) This wasn’t something He was doing for the first time, this was a pattern in the order of things because they were created for fellowship with God. Alas, sin (disobedience) ruined everything. When we come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ we are saved from the catastrophic consequences of original sin which is separation from God (spiritual death.) In Christ Jesus, God makes us a new creature (See 2 Corinthians 5:17.) He gives us the Holy Spirit to live in us and guide us into all truth helping us learn and grow in Jesus our Saviour. The Lord Himself said of the Spirit “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.” Here is more from the Lord Jesus:

12 There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

John 16:12-15 NLT

God recreates and makes us new that is to say we are “born again” (See 1 Peter 1:23.) Did you know that being born again means our DNA is overhauled as it were? Peter writes about this amazing truth definitively in his second epistle:

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 1:2-4 NKJV

Here’s how the NLT translation puts it “These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” A partaker of the Divine Nature? What’s that? That’s Divine DNA because you are a child of God. That makes the enemy irreconcilably jealous of every born-again Christian.

Partakers Of The Divine Nature

To partake of the Divine Nature means you have God’s nature seeded in you. Think about that for a moment. Friends this is the crux of the matter. The more we feed that nature with the word of God, prayer, congregational fellowship, and living for Him the more He can by His indwelling Spirit form Christ in us. Paul writes to the Galatian Church about this foundational matter expressing his commitment to the process:

19 Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives

Galatians 4:19 NLT

If we have the Divine Nature we will not be fulfilled until we acknowledge and learn Divine patterns and rhythms. The Divine Nature pursues the things of God while our flesh pursues the things of this world. See Galatians 5:17. The Lord calls us to submit ourselves to Him in humility. Apostle Peter says it clearly “humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time, he will lift you in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

He wants to lift you for His purposes. It is our responsibility to seek Him that He may make us into the likeness of Jesus Christ His Son. As we grow in Him we fall into harmony with Heaven. We come into Divine alignment. At that point, we can truly see His will being done in and through us on earth as it is in Heaven. Our singing will change, and our prayer will become deeper because He prays through us. Please note that I am not saying God can’t use anybody at whatever stage they are at. The truth is that if God can use a donkey he can use anyone. However, His will is never for us to remain where we are. We can grow in Christ and His knowledge and therefore become vessels unto honor indeed.

Brothers and sisters today “deep calls unto deep” The Father calls your spirit to go deeper with and in Christ.
