Day 9: Jesus, Saviour and Solution III
Tuesday, January 18, 2022
Jesus the Solution will not be a reality for us and through us to touch the world until we grow in our faith commensurate to the power needed to solve real-life problems. We are encouraged to grow in grace, that is to grow in Christ’s ability. As we grow we are to be conduits of the very grace that saved us that others may be drawn into God’s family.
Grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus
2 peter 3:18 NKJV
The entire church needs to grow together because the power is not only revealed in an individual capacity but more so in community capacity. Jesus’ body on the earth is the church and the design is for us all to grow in faith together. God made sure to supply special offices for this purpose as He works to build us unto one big housing of God’s Spirit called the Body of Christ.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV
To grow in grace is to grow in power. When the church gathers for public worship, that power is harnessed and released. When we do things together the power generated creates Divine realities around us. Satan does not want us to gather or work in harmony. Where there is disharmony, confusion, and disorganization the work of God cannot prosper. And he knows this. So the emissaries of darkness do everything possible to ensure that local church members don’t see eye to eye on anything.
In Paul’s letter to the Church at Corinth he warns of fleshly behavior that lends itself to the tactics of the enemy. He tells them that they are carnal Christians because they carry on with divisions and infighting among themselves.
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ… For you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
1 Corinthians 3:1-3
Jesus says that we are the salt of the earth. Salt is a solution in itself. It is used to season almost any type of food you can imagine. We cannot have any salty (useful) quality if we were not connected to the Master Himself. We must therefore work hard depending on Him not to lose our salty nature. Salt according to the Lord when it loses its taste has become useless and it is thrown out. As we grow in grace our salt comes out as wisdom like Joseph in Egypt where it is needed. It will manifest as healing, as comfort, and whatever good you can imagine in various places because we are the hands and feet of Jesus on the planet. In his second letter to the Corinthians Paul describes the Christ working through believers as a fragrance. You could consider a fragrance a solution to a problem, right? And a stinky world does need the fresh fragrance of Jesus.
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing
2 Corinthians 2:14-15 NKJV
