Day 6: Saved From Satan III

As Christians, (people who follow Jesus), we cannot but agree with the scriptures that Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil and the manifestation of that work was setting us free from the shackles of satan. For this reason, we must understand that we are prime targets of the enemy. There is a spiritual war going on and we cannot avoid it. When you declare for Jesus and as long as you are breathing on this planet, you have become a sworn enemy of the devil by reason of your association with Jesus.

There is a war going on. It is raging so fierce and it is a war between the forces of light and the eternally doomed forces of darkness. The enemy does not understand nor does he accept defeat. Even with the Lord Jesus, after the 40-day temptation in the wilderness, we are told “he departed from him until an opportune time.” This means he left to return another day. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that spiritual warfare is the default.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principlaities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”

Ephesians 6:12 NKJV

We are also not left without tools for the battles that we must engage with the forces of darkness as we journey towards our destiny in Christ Jesus.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV

These weapons of our warfare are enumerated in Ephesians 6:11-19. Please take some time to read those verses and spend time praying through each one of the weapons listed. Let them become part of you, your necessary breath so that when the enemy comes at you with words of accusation, arrows of doubt or whatever the temptation maybe you will be able to stand “and having done all to withstand.”

I pray that as you read through the verses that a revelation from God fills your heart and may the word indeed become flesh for you. As far as who wins and who loses those are already settled in heaven. Followers of Jesus are on the winning side. Period! The enemy is on the losing side and he is a perpetual loser. We must advance with that mindset even when things don’t look rosy.

Someone once offered some interesting advice for dealing with the devil. He said, “when the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.” In a way that is quite true considering the fact that the scriptures make it clear that he is doomed to eternal residence in the lake of fire. However, the most powerful weapon satan fears are the scriptures. That is the bedrock of everything else we have to enforce our victory. Use the word!

More than Conqueror Prayer and Declaration

  • Read Romans 8:31-39 and use each of the verses as prayer points.
  • Read Ephesians 6:10-20 and claim each of these weapons as part of your armoury
  • Turn the verses into prayer requests and declarations as you read through
  • We have indeed been made more than conquerors.
  • Give thanks and praise for Day 6
