God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.Ephesians 2:8-10
“We are saved by grace” not by the good things we have done. It’s best we remember that. The grace of God is unmerited favour towards us.
When I look at a Masterpiece I stand in awe of the beauty, the detail, the thought and the care that the artist spent on it. The value & worth of a Masterpiece is extremely high and in this case… priceless!! That’s ME! Not only that – it says I was created anew so I can do the things he planned…
I was created on purpose, for a purpose and I am priceless!
Wow that is so powerful Christine. Thank you for your comment. I actually had to go back and read the verse again after i read your comment. It appears that I missed the masterpiece part of it. And it was there as bright as day.
As Gods Masterpiece, nothing can keep me down! Nothing can hold me back!! I am created to EXCEL in ALL things!!! Amen!
I am not only a masterpiece, but a creation based on God’s image. Wow! Let that sink in for a minute. We are God’s most beautiful creation. Now I know that we are not perfect and we mess of often, but we are created to shine brighter than anything else in all of creation. We have the ability to speak of what God has done for me, for us and praise God with our very own lips.. We must Praise our God each single day of our lives.. He is Amazing God!!!
Yes we are the crown of God’s creation.
Wow I am a masterpiece created by God!!! No one is like me , no duplicate!!That just makes me feel so special!! Just knowing that I can do all things through Jesus Christ my saviour!! Even though He knew I would make mistakes and He made me a masterpiece!! Priceless and so honor to be called His daughter !!
I read verse 10 to my students this morning! None of us are saved by our good works, for Jesus’ work on the cross is sufficient for our salvation. Instead we are saved for good works. God has given us the task of proclaiming God’s salvation to a dying world.
Lord, help me to have spiritual eyes to see those who have need to hear of the good works You have done. Give me courage to act and speak in ways that magnify you.
That’s actually a good idea, reading to (sharing) the Bible reading passage of the day with a group of people. It makes me think of the different places where that can happen, work, school, hospital visits, business meetings, board meetings, car dealerships etc. May we find such openings. This is very encouraging Greg. Blessings!
