Day 15

People visiting in living room

God Designed Small Groups for Our Benefit

Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.

1 Corinthians 14:26 NLT

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Hebrews 10:25 NLT

“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. 20 For where two or three gather together as my followers,[a] I am there among them.”

Matthew 18:19-20 NLT

Small groups, cell groups, life groups are different names given to small gatherings of people within a local assembly of believers. We are encouraged to not neglect our meeting together as some people do but encourage one another. The phrase “one another” is often repeated in scripture and is a great reminder of the importance of relationships. In small group settings participants are able to interact and make valuable contributions as well as pray for one another.

In the first scripture quote I see that believers meeting together is not optional. “When you meet…” is clearly a reminder of what is expected.

The scriptures state that in the last days young men shall have dreams, Yahweh has an eye on the young and we need to listen to what HE is speaking thru them, parents question your children in your small “gatherings” at home, amazing what insights they give to us about scripture…

This brings Psalm 8:2 to mind about how God has ordained strength in the mouth of babes.

Small groups bring you closer to god. We help each other thru the ups and downs of life praying for each other. Each part of the scriptures can become confusing at times. Also it is like a smaller body of a the church. Gives you more time to understand the bible. The children have questions and they learn so much We also learn from them. The groups are amazing

I agree totally. Infact one thing that always amazes me is how Jesus had his core group as 12 people to start with. The Lord was a master at small groups. I believe that small groups is one of the ways people can really grow in their faith.

I read the scriptures a few times and wanted to hear on it how it would talked to me , and what I got is that in all 3 it talked about meeting together.
God wants us to be as one as Jesus is with the Father.. having a relationship with one accord strengthening one another and encouraging one another! God wants to be in the midst of us when we meet!!

Amen to meeting together! Hebrews 10:25 is a classic scripture for that one. Thank you
