Day 13

Teach me your decrees, O Lord;
I will keep them to the end.
34 Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions;
I will put them into practice with all my heart.
35 Make me walk along the path of your commands,
for that is where my happiness is found.
36 Give me an eagerness for your laws
rather than a love for money!
37 Turn my eyes from worthless things,
and give me life through your word.

Psalm 119:33-37 NLT

    Christine says:

    True happiness and abundant life is found through following God’s Word, his instructions and commands. But notice how in each verse the psalmist is asking the Lord to teach…, give…,make…, turn… He knows that he cannot live life well in his own strength. There is an expectation that the one who created him and knows him best is the one that will show him his path and lead him in the way that he should go. I also see such an open heart and willingness to listen and then obey. May this prayer of David’s be mine as well.

    True happiness and abundant life… who wants it?!!
