Increase in the Kingdom

Scripture

⁴² And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. ⁴³ Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. ⁴⁴ Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, ⁴⁵ and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
⁴⁶ So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Acts 2:42-47

It is God’s will for the church to grow spiritually, numerically and otherwise. There are seasons of intense difficulty where growth is hampered as we see with the first century church in the book of Acts. Persecution threatened their very existence.. But as they remained steadfast, with many fleeing Jerusalem in fear for their lives, the gospel spread. It is important to note that growth happened much more in peaceful and stable times. Let us not forget that we are engaged in spiritual warfare on many levels and there’s always a push back from satanic cohorts. We must claim and appropriate our victory delivered in Jesus Christ.

• Give thanks for the divine preservation of the Church
  
• Pray for someone you feel led to share the gospel with. Ask for divinely arranged opportunities and wisdom to deliver truth
  

Sample Prayer

Father in Heaven most gracious and loving,

Jesus your Son said, “I have chosen you to bring forth fruit and that your fruit should abide.” I come to you today to pray for the church to be fruit bearing. I ask for the door of faith to be opened over our city so that many who are searching and hungry for you without knowing what and where the answer is will find You. I ask that more people will be added to your church at Joy Fountain so that they may experience salvation and deliverance from darkness to light. I pray for churches about to close their doors and ministers who are discouraged today to be lifted up and find encouragement in You Lord.

I come against the power of the evil one keeping people in bondage with lies and deceit. Let Your light shine into the souls of men, women, youth, and children everywhere. Give us the key to the hearts of those around us who are yet to know you. Draw them to you by Your own power for none can come to You except You draw them. Make me a fruitful branch in Your Vine.

I thank you because there is a harvest brewing right now. I praise You, God of the ages, Eternal Rock of ages, King of kings and Lord of lords, Emmanuel!
