Jesus cast out devils, and He taught us to cast out devils. I find it remarkable that just before He departed for Heaven to sit at the Father’s right hand, one of the famous instructions to the disciples was to cast out devils. If He demonstrated this for His early disciples while He was on earth, and made sure to include it in our role description as followers, we should be casting out devils.
“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Demons are believed to be disembodied evil spirits, the offspring of the fallen angels who slept with women in the days of Noah. That ungodly engagement created a race of mysterious giant hybrid humans – Nephilim. After the flood destroyed them, their spirits (demons or devils) roam the earth, looking for a physical body to dwell in. They also cause a lot of trouble, as they are aligned with their master, the devil. For that reason, they come to steal, kill, and destroy. Demonic spirits masquerade as clean spirits who help humans. Many religions of the world, ethnic and cultural groups worship deities that are actually demonic. New Age practices are also chock full of demonic interaction.
If you have the Spirit of God in you, whenever a foul spirit manifests or is in operation, you are likely to pick it up. It is usually a matter of time, as they cannot hide their nature. People who are possessed outright by demons are usually uncomfortable and will be unable to stay in a place where the power of God is evident, except if they seek deliverance from the evil spirits. In Acts 16:16-18, Paul had to allow for time to expose an unclean spirit masquerading as if it were from God, and he cast it out. In Mark 5:1-19, Jesus cast out 1000 demons from the madman of Gadara.
“Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.” Mark 5:15 NKJV
There are several other instances where we find the Lord casting out evil spirits. We should do the same when the opportunity arises. Also, when we pray, we should cast out evil spirits if we sense their activity. How they enter people (yuk) is another thing to pay attention to. They use spiritual doors to the human spirit. People can ignorantly open doors for demonic oppression or possession through living with consistent sinful habits, using the tools of witchcraft, dark magic, occultism, and such things that the Lord forbids.
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” Matthew 14:43-45 NKJV
You have the authority, plus you can join with other believers to increase firepower and cast out evil spirits. Deliverance in Jesus’ Name opens the door to cast them out! Examine yourself. Are there doors you need to close? Close the doors of entry permanently. Amen!

- Pray for the success of our 3-day water/liquid fast (Thursday to Saturday). Ask for spiritual strength for those participating as we complete it today.
- Pray that the Lord blesses all of us in this 7-day sacrifice and that He institutes covenants for us in every area. Psalm 50:5
- Cast out devils in Jesus’ Name. They are evil strangers and should not be given space. Feel free to pray in Christ’s authority, casting out demonic influences in Jesus’ Name. Mark 1:21-28, Phil 2:10, Psalm 18:44-45, Ephesians 4:27, Colossians 2:15
- Ask the Lord to bring healing to His church as a norm in 2026. Malachi 4:2, Matthew 15:26
