Day 3: Arise And Walk Through Open Doors!

We have established from the word that Jesus is the door opener. He can also close a door. And whichever he chooses to do, close or open, no one can reverse. On November 30th, I was in prayer, and I felt the Lord speak softly to my heart about consecration in relation to open doors. A few weeks later, just before Christmas, I heard the words “I have opened doors, but you have to walk through them.” This felt like a follow-up to what I heard on November 30. When I hear that still small voice within my spirit, I always look for scripture to confirm what I am hearing. God will not speak to us or give us instructions outside the template of scripture.

The Lord called Abram out of the Ur of the Chaldees to a land that He (God) would show him. Abram left, not knowing where he was going, but he trusted the Lord to lead him.

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.”
Hebrews 11:8-9

Abraham’s obedience was the beginning of entering into a divine covenant that would reverbrate for generations to come. It is important to note that at some point there was something significant the Lord asked him to do in the land of promise. First the Lord seperated Lot from Abram and then instructed him to lift up his eyes to scan the land and then to walk in the land.

“And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. 16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”
Gen. 13:14-17 NKJV.

To walk through the doors God opens for us, we must first have heard with our spiritual ears and seen with our spiritual eyes (Divine vision.) What have you heard and what do you see? Twenty-two years ago, the Lord spoke to my spirit, instructing us to come to Canada. I am ever so thankful that we obeyed. While there will be difficulties (just like Abraham faced), since we live in a fallen world, we can rest assured that His word to us will always come to pass.

The instructions we receive from the Holy Spirit are a set of doors. Your obedience in doing what God asks of you is how you “arise and walk in the land.” Paul and Barnabas left the comfort and familiarity of Antioch to travel for the sake of the Gospel. This led to the entire gentile world hearing the Gospel of Christ and His glorious Kingdom. In Luke 10 the Lord appointed seventy who were sent out to preach the gospel. They returned declaring that demons were subject to them in Jesus’ name. What doors have been open to you? If you ask me to summarize in simple words what it means to walk through doors, I will say “Going and doing it!”

Arise and walk through your open door. You will be amazed at what God will do!
