There Should Be Nothing Amazing About Darkness (Don’t Be Fooled)
The multifaceted practice of darkness must never become amazing to us as believers. This is because the root is satan, the father of lies. In our text, we come across Simon, a sorcerer who had held the people of Samaria both small and great in amazement and great wonder with his sorceries. So, no one in the city was outside this man’s demonic manipulation until Philip the deacon arrived from Jerusalem and “preached Christ” to them. The result of Philip’s message – the doctrine of Jesus Christ and God our Saviour – of salvation through Jesus Christ alone rocked the entire city for good. Joy exploded!
“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8:5-8 NKJV
Simon had held the people of Samaria down by the power of demons using dark magic to create astonishing acts. As they watched and willfully engaged in amazement, he distributed demonic spirits into their lives. This is why we must avoid palm reading, tarot cards, and new-age offerings, no matter how they are cloaked in righteousness. But alas, it was from the devil. And whatever the devil does brings disaster because his agenda is nothing short of coming to steal, kill, and destroy you. For a long time, satan held Samaria bound until Jesus showed up through Philip. Our City will experience the earth-shaking power of the Holy Spirit this year. Many more people will be delivered from the shackles of satan in Jesus’ name. There will be joy reverberating across our city. Glory Hallelujah!

Psalm 32:1-5 Praise and thank God for being our Saviour, forgiving, cleansing, and saving us from sin. Reflect on all of 2024. Go ahead and praise Him for other things that come to mind. Ps. 32:6-7, Praise Him for being our High Priest and Guide. Ps. 32:10-11. Praise Him for putting the wicked to shame as our Warrior and Protector.
His Kingdom Come, and His Will Be Done On Earth…
Ephesians 5:11 We will never be joined to the unfruitful works of darkness in Jesus’ name. Reject satan’s attempt to convert the next generation to the lies of sorcery through movies and popular culture. Job 5:12-16 Us the authority in Jesus’ name to frustrate the devices of darkness.
Give Us This Day our Daily Bread…
John 6:51. Jesus is the bread that we must eat from. Pray for fresh revelation today. Claim the divine power and strength of God to walk in His authority.
Forgive Us As We Forgive Others…
Matthew 5:23. We are bombarded daily with opportunities to harbor hatred and resentment toward others. Lord, grant us the grace to walk free from unforgiveness.
Lead Us Not Into Temptation But Deliver Us From Evil…
Job 5:12. Pray using the authority in the name of Jesus against every maneuver of the evil one against you, your family, and the church of God. Make declarations as applicable, knowing that in the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and tongue confess that He is the Lord.
