Day 14: Jesus and Everlasting Joy

Knowing and having a relationship with Jesus means you have everlasting life. You should also have everlasting joy. Generally speaking, happiness is an emotional response to good conditions occurring around us. Joy on the other hand is a deep-seated good feeling irrespective of what is going on around. It may sometimes appear that our joy is missing when we face certain unpleasant circumstances. However, it never goes away. The joy of the Lord is a testament to His presence in our lives. As we conclude our time of fasting and prayer to usher in the year 2022, it is my prayer that joy springs forth for us all. The Prophet Isaiah has some good information on the power of a fasting prayer exercise.

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Isaiah 58:6-8 NKJV

While we can and should take out regular periods of fasting to seek God’s help in addressing our personal lives, vocational calling, and spiritual growth, on a wider scheme of things we are called to engage in prophetic prayer. Prophetic prayer is when God has spoken a word of prophecy backed by scripture and we expend ourselves in praying that they come to pass. It is our responsibility to come to God in prayer making requests of Him of the things we know only He can do. It is paramount to also venture decisively into the realm of prophetic prayers. The model prayer that Jesus teaches the disciples in Luke 11 actually provides for prophetic prayer at the very beginning. It appears that God wants us to be intercessors even before we cry out to him for our personal needs. Would that not sound more like Divine character?

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Luke 11:2 NKJV

For God’s Kingdom to come in any representation we have to know what that looks like. In other words, He has to have shown us what it would look like. Once His will is impressed in our hearts the burden to pray moves us into constant prayer until His will is done.

Let us be bold and ask Him for the things He has impressed on our hearts. When we ask for these things according to His will and they come to pass our joy will be full. This is interesting, isn’t it? The concept that joy can be measured is a heavenly one. Jesus taught it. It is the truth! For that reason, I want a full container of joy in my spirit. Do you want that too? May we hear more clearly than ever before that we may ask in His will.

Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

John 16:24 NKJV

Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ Therefore you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 12:2-3 NKJV

2022 “God Our Salvation” It will be a good year in Jesus’ name.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

1. Give thanks to God for Day 14. We made it here to His glory.
2. Give thanks and praise to God for 2022
3. Declare that God is yours and our Salvation in 2022
4. Declare an end to the current C19 climate in Canada.
5. Pray that God’s random arrow will find its mark in every area of our nation.
6. Praise God for a glorious time of fasting and prayer.
7. Go over your personal prayer list if you have one and give thanks in advance for answered prayer.
