1 Samuel 30:1-15

We are Spiritual Athletes. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

• Paul describes the Christian faith as an athletic endurance race. 
• Never forget you are an athlete. Vs 6a.
• Develop and maintain the mindset of an athlete. Vs 6b
• Athletes NEED a team. Think church, leadership, small groups, volunteering 

The Spiritual Athletes Field

• While pursuing to recover “they found an Egyptian in the field” Vs 11-13

• Only Athletes who “live a life of pursuit” find surprises and opportunities in the field.

• Those found in the field must be brought to the PRIEST and given WATER. Hebrews 3:1

The Field is bigger than your family. Phil 2:4

• Many have limited the field to immediate family.
• There’s more in the wider family of God

God’s extended family is waiting in the immediate mission field around us.
