Jesus and Divine Timing
Luke 4:16-21. (NLT)
- While God alone knows the timing of things in His power, His Timing appears connected to the Right Person, Right Place and Right Thing
- Example: Peter in Jerusalem continuing in Prayer with the other disciples for the Pentecost outpouring.
7 key things about Divine Timing in Jesus’ life;
- Obedient (subject) to His parents for 18 years. Luke 2:41-52
- Served in the synagogue regularly. Luke 4:16-21
- Once at the age of 12 He was missing for three days in Jerusalem. Luke 2:45-49
- Submitted to His second cousin John the Baptist’s ministry in order to access His own (calling) ministry. Luke 4:21
- Fasted for 40 days in the wilderness and within which He resisted the devil’s temptation storm
- He grew in favour with God and man. Luke 2:40
- He was full of the Holy Spirit, led by the Holy Spirit and filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Luke 4:1,14-15.
Jesus asks a very valid question Luke 18:1-8.
- When the Son of Man returns “how many will He find on the earth who have faith?”
- It is by being a person full of faith that we find the right place and right thing for the right results
- Solution for lasting faith? Just like Jesus prayed for Peter we need to pray for our faith not to fail. Luke 22:31-32.
- Can we pray for one another in the local church right NOW?
