Angels Among Us
Hebrews 1:14
Angels are spirit beings created by God for His purpose. The scriptures are abundantly clear about their varied roles to those who will inherit salvation.
Some examples of Angel activity in the Old Testament
- Angels meet with Abraham. Genesis 18:1-2
- One angel destroys 185,000 Assyrian troops. Isaiah 37:36
- Gideon’s war against the Amalekites. Judges 6:11-23
- Super Samson’s parents (Manoah and his wife) Judges 13
Some examples of Angel activity in the New Testament
- Birth of Christ. Luke 2:1-20
- Joseph encouraged to marry Mary. Matthew 1:20
- Rescuing Peter from prison and certain death. Acts 12:7
Angels Today/ The Church Age
Because there are false angels seeking to corrupt truth we must know that true Angels:
- Will not seek worship from you
- Draw attention to Jesus Christ
- Seek to help not harm believers
At work among us
Angelic activity increases when we gather for fellowship, when we sing praises to God, pray, when the word is preached and when a sinner turns to God. See Hebrews 10:25
