Day 2

A small green plant budding.

Grow in the Knowledge and Understanding of Christ

Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

2 Peter 3:18

So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. 2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,

1 Peter 2:1-2

I have been a Christian (follower of Jesus) for many years. Throughout the years one thing I have found consistent is the ability of the scriptures to nourish me. My wife and I agree that whenever we feel out of it that’s not the time to skip scriptures. It is then we really need to dive in the most. If we know it’s that valuable then we must cry out for nourishment.

I wrote this yesterday morning & was deciding all day if I should share it. Lol, I finished reading this mornings Scripture and well, here it is.

I have a Devo in the morning & try to at least read verses throughout the day. Although that is a good thing. It’s simply not enough for me. I’m finally realizing this. Most Christians, myself included do not access all that Christ has given to us. We are too content with the little knowledge that we tap into daily – sure, it gets us through our day. However, the danger in only consuming enough for survival is that we eventually begin to perish. (Proverbs 29:18)
Christ wants to put us over the top ! God has already given us everything we could ever need & it’s all good ! It’s been ourselves holding us back from abundant living. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
He created each of us to thrive & give Him the glory. Christ knows our worth (we are His creation) and if we let Him. He hand crafts us into the purest image of Love by His Word!

(The enemy also knows our worth & tries to steal us back to handcraft us into his product, like minions going about his evil business. We’ve given the enemy the go ahead to mess with us – Gods beautiful creation whenever we consume – our own negativity – stresses, fears, negative Media, Tv, music, toxic people in our lives, news, food, & dare I say … pharmaceutical ?)

I’m a woman that loves God, but despite my good intentions has allowed parental and financial stresses at moments to bring out the worst in me instead of Gods love in me.
“Pressure” doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It draws out WHO we are really about, the things we consume, the One we worship. Maybe it draws out pain that we have yet to surrender to God to heal. We need to realize that no, we can’t fix it, but our God knows He can !

It’s time WE acknowledge our worth and decide who we are going to let hand craft us. (Proverbs 27:17) When we activate
“ As for me and my house we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:2) “ – We are hand crafted by Gods Word. Speaking it, hearing it, and living it equips us all for each of His callings on our lives. The more I consume Christ – His Word – the more people, my husband & my children will see the LOVE of God in my responses, actions, words, attitude and tone etc. I pray I live my life as worship to Christ. When we actually activate His Word in our lives… our children will one day rise up and call us blessed. (Proverbs 31:28)

“The more I consume Christ – His word” That stood out to me. To me it’s like the summary of everything in your comment and I think we as Christians need to ask that question of ourselves. Am I feeding on the word to the point that I am changing? If we neglect feeding on the scriptures we create difficulty for ourselves.

    Matt says:

Interesting that it says in that scripture, we must crave it…, so we will grow into the full experience of salvation. It’s not a one time get, it’s a long time grow. Yes there is initial salvation, but thats only the start! We need the crave part. It’s the longing desire! Let that be out portion as we seek God this month!!

      Andaza says:

The word “crave” should become a prayer request for us. I recall how as a twenty some year old in our fellowship at the time we always prayed regularly that new and mature believers alike would desire Gods word as necessary food. We should make that a consistent prayer refrain.

Probably as long as we have those compartments ie work-mode(Monday-Friday) and God-mode for what’s left after that, “growth in knowledge” will be limited or eventually perish as Vicki said…
