Day 23

Divine Direction and Protection

1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Psalm 91:1-4 NLT

    This is one of my favorite scriptures. It is very powerful when we believe and speak it over our lives. His promises are your armor and protection. Let’s just meditate on that for a minute.

    As a child I remember learning this song way back over 36 years ago or so that had these words in it. Over the years I’ve come to rely on the scriptures particularly this one as it concerns the believers protection. “His faithful promises are our armour and protection” What has the Lord spoken to your heart, what promise has He given you? What does scripture say? All in all no matter what scriptures cannot be broken.

    Babette Zacharias says:

    My first thought on verse 3, was one of confusion, we all see how Christian humans are not protected from the effects of the world and the disease that lives in it. This would likely haunt me and cause doubts, but now I can see that God can protect you, despite your sickness, half the battle, or maybe more than half, is the battle in your mind, maybe that’s the protection God is giving you, cause it’s far easier to handle the sickness, when your mind has peace…

    I remembered when I was ill a few yrs ago due to complications of gallbladder stones, I was in alot of pain post surgery and after many tries of surgeons trying to disloge this large stone which was not successful I was in and out of the hospital and was unable to eat due to being on IV fluids only, I had lost quite a bit of weight Doctors /surgeons had to figure out how to dislodge a large stone from one of the main bile ducts and the only thing that kept me at peace knowing that Jesus was in control. I felt God’s protection and just trusted Him to guide the doctors and it all worked out at the end!! Jesus is amazing!
