Day 1

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Joshua 1:8

The scriptures are the Word of God. When we pay attention to what is written in it according to Joshua 1:8 above, we will “…prosper and succeed…”

Our theme for this Bible Reading Month is Spiritual Growth.

Take a moment to read the verses, meditate (think deeply) on what you have read, and spend some time in prayer.

The Holy Spirit speaks through the Scriptures.

To grow means to increase in some way or another. Spiritual growth is an increase in understanding of spiritual things.

May we grow in the knowledge of Christ as we read through the scriptures this month.

Spiritual Growth is the bedrock of a successful life of following Jesus. God desires for us as individuals to grow in every respect. May we grow as a people of prayer, living on purpose and experiencing divine power every day.

    Matt says:

I like how the Word is referred to as the Book of instruction. So often we want to skip the instructions and do it ourselves. This is because we think we know all the answer or are to prideful. God calls us to walk in humility. It says if we obey….’ONLY THEN’ will you prosper and succeed in all you do! Father help us to obey this Book of instruction, that we may prosper and have success in all we do!

    Érica says:

Living daily trusting in God is a glorious adventure. When we trust God (day and night) faith changes the perspective of life and I begin to see miracles happening around me while for others they see only natural events and “coincidences”. we have to accept our weakness, this means total dependence on God. And I plan plans but God’s plans are superior. And His power acts in this moment, perfects in my weakness, powerlessness .. It is an intimate and daily adventure with God.

Interesting that word to prosper that “throws” us in all sorts of directions, the Cambridge dictionary terms this as “
(pertaining to a person or a business) to be or become successful, especially financially”, that does not seem to tally with scripture cause God’s prosperity is eternal and does not “gather mould”. May we all grow into that SPIRITUAL PROSPERITY that is this months theme????????

    Greg says:

Meditate ‘day and night’! A pretty tall order. In I Thessalonians 5:16-18 Paul tells us: Always be joyful, never stop praying, be thankful in all circumstances … (NLT) None of this can be done in our own strength. We must rely on God fully to be able to do these things.

I agree “tall order” if we are to be looking at it from the human angle. Thank God for the grace that He gives. Lord shower us with more grace.
