Day 18

Share Your Faith

I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: 2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

    Andaza says:

    This morning I was moved to give thanks to God for His protection over His people especially as it concerns the discernment of error in teaching. I am also praying for opportunities for us to share our faith. There are spiritually hungry people everywhere. We all need the grace of God in this area. Folusho and I have made some new friends among the football parents trusting God to help us be a blessing this season.

    Matt says:

    They will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itchy ears want to hear. This is happening everywhere!! People don’t want the complete gospel; they want only the pieces that fit within the box that they have created! You cannot fit Jesus into a box. He is limitless, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Unchanging Changer, the One who was, is and is yet to come and He will always and forever be!!!

      Babette Zacharias says:

      Because then they will have to change the things in their lives that they like to participate in. I think it’s what everything boils down to. ????

      Andaza says:

      It’s interesting how it says “they…will look for teachers.” There is intentionality inferred there on the part of those who don’t want the truth as revealed. Father keep us from worthless things.

    Érica says:

    “Preach the word. Be ready to serve God in good times and bad.. Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Preach the word. Be ready to do it whether it is convenient or inconvenient. Be preaching the word at all times, in every place;“

    Continuous process!!!
    No excuses!!!
    All the conditions are clearly through Paul:
    Good times and bad;
    Season out of season;
    Not the time is right;
    Convenient or inconvenient.
    Is our mission here in this world to be salt and to be light. But we need to BE READY and Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord..
    Is really amazing experience to do God’s work!!!

    Kevin says:

    Work at telling others the good news. Often this is as simple as telling them what God has done in you and through you. People can argue scriptures but they can’t argue against your story. Sometimes we can complicate the ministry God has given us. We compare it to what other people are doing or how much they know or have learned. Keep it simple, the reality is our ministry is so powerful because it’s “our” ministry. No one has a story like ours, so share your story and tell the good news of what God has done. The scriptures are powerful and that power is best represented when it works through us creating our story to tell.
