Day 16

Set Spiritual Goals and Work to Achieve Them

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[a] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Philippians 3:13-14 NLT

Then the Lord said to me,
“Write my answer plainly on tablets,
so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
3 This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place.
It will not be delayed.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 NLT

Heavenly Father give us the grace to understand vision and communicate it well so that we may succeed in what you have called us to do.

    Matt Bordush says:

I love the comparison of this life to a race. It’s hard to not look back and focus on all we have done wrong, or the legs of the race that our times were not as great as we would of liked them to be. It’s important to note that the writer says-Look forward to what lies ahead, and press on!! In order to reach the end and receive the heavenly prize. If something from your past is troubling you today, don’t look back at it, but set your eyes on good things to come! He who the Son has set free, is free indeed!

    Monica Ulloa says:

Remembering the past on things that has happen to me is remembered but no longer bothers me and I feel no pain , at times it has been used to help others on what I have gone through, and this was only accomplished by Jesus healing my wounds. I can only say I am way better then I was.
Running the race is best not to look back to desire on what was left behind but to desire what is at the finish line, and for us is eternal life!! We can apply it to a runner running over opticles in a race if he or she looks back he/she will fall and really hurt themselves and others runners will pass them for not looking at what is ahead of them and will miss out on the prize at the finish line!!
Heavenly Father help me continue the race, give me strength, endurance and agility and may I be able to pass on the message of Salvation to those who are in need !Amen!

Hey Monica one scripture that has helped me especially considering how God uses the past pain in pur lives to comfort others is in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

Hey Sharon I agree with you 100%. Also I would usually encourage the use of upper case letter “G” for God.
